Ausgrid – Transformational Safety Program

Provided the executive and corporate leadership for a transformational safety program resulting in a significant reduction in Total Recordable Injury Frequency and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rates over only 12 months. The change program included the technical support, management and leadership of a single refreshed WHS management system, refreshed content for the intranet, safety leadership program, new scorecards, targeted risk control programs and industry benchmarking.


RABQSA Qualified Auditors at Scott Paine Consulting have provided auditing services including undertaking Principal Contractor audits in relation to Qantas Property construction projects and National Self-Insurer audits for clients including Kmart (as part of Wesfarmers).

Endeavour Energy – Harmonisation of Health and Safety Management System & Development of Procedures

Scott Paine Consulting undertook a gap analysis and reviewed and updated Endeavours WHS Management System and provided the business with direction as to strategic priorities to ensure compliance with the transitional laws.

In consultation with key business stakeholders, Scott Paine Consulting developed a Safe Design Procedure and associated tools and templates intended to deliver on legislative and National Self-Insurer requirements.

Bowel Cancer Australia – Review and Updates to HR Policy

Undertook a review of BCA’s HR policy to provide the necessary updates to ensure it aligned with the Fair Work Act 2009 and the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

Provision of executive strategy, change management, systems and leadership programs in order to bring about a cultural change resulting in reduction in injuries and illness and improvement in employee wellness.

Nine Network Australia – HR Restructure

Scott Paine assumed responsibility for the Human Resources function in 2004 and developed the strategic direction and plan for the Channel Nine business including the shared service and HR function. During this time Scott implemented the plan and performed the restructure resulting in key operational HR functions being transferred to Department Heads and Executive Producer positions. The HR team and the Channel Nine business were successfully navigated through the change.

PBL Media – OH&S Management System

A Health and Safety System was developed which touched all levels of the organisation from executive policy and strategy to the implementation of hazard controls on TV and magazine productions. The system was successfully implemented across all Nine and ACP Australian sites, and the London and LA News Bureaus. The implementation of the system resulted in successful external audit outcomes, reduction in illness and injury, reduction in workers compensation costs and a discount on the workers compensation premium.

Sydney Water – Risk Management System

A Contractor Risk Management System (CRMS) was developed together with the delivery of skills based training program and evaluation of the effectiveness of the system. The implementation of both the system and the training program resulted in a reduced number of contractor incidents and increased compliance with standards.

Department of Juvenile Justice – OH&S Management Solution

Developed the team for the Detainee Behaviour Intervention Framework (DBIF) to manage the health and safety risk in Juvenile Justice Centres, which aims at minimising assaults and unruly behaviour among detainees and staff. This ongoing relationship has already developed a risk register for the Juvenile Justice Centres, a risk-based decision making training program, and has also achieved a positive cultural shift amongst staff, leading to better decision-making abilities.

CLP Power Hong Kong – OH&S Management Solution

A global benchmarking study of modern health and safety practices was undertaken and evaluated against CLP Power standards in Hong Kong. The result enabled the company to effectively isolate and action any OH&S issues, leading to the development of a pathway for continuous improvement to achieve global excellence.

Cadbury Schweppes – OH&S Management Solution

An audit was undertaken by the global EHS audit team, whereby Scott Paine Consulting helped Cadbury Schweppes comply with the requirements set by the global audit standards and close out all corrective actions that arose out of that audit. There is also an ongoing consultative relationship to provide expert advice to Cadbury Schweppes on health and safety issues relating to the Science and Technology function.

Tenix – OH&S Management Solution

Provided expert technical advice and cultural change initiatives at a senior corporate level, which involved the coordination and liaison with executive directors, senior management and board members.

Channel 9 – Media and Entertainment

Scott Paine has provided safety advice to media and entertainment industries, having established credible success with popular Australian Television series such as The Block, The Footy Show, Renovation Rescue, Backyard Blitz and The Logies.
